Would You Catch a Falling Star : ウィキペディア英語版 | Would You Catch a Falling Star
"Would You Catch a Falling Star" is a song written by Bobby Braddock, and recorded by American country music artist John Anderson. It was released in April 1982 as the second single from the album ''I Just Came Home to Count the Memories''. The song reached number 6 on the ''Billboard'' Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart.〔 ==Song content== "Would You Catch a Falling Star" is a tongue in cheek look at the pitfalls of stardom and fame, told through the eyes of a one-time superstar whose drawing power and appeal to fans was fading. The song opens with the performer, a one-time superstar, finishing a concert at a small, half-filled arena; he tries desperately to live up to the glory and peak of his one-time fame. He then departs backstage, half drunk and tells his companion, "Would you catch a falling star before he crashes to the ground." The singer—complaining that nobody seems to remember him—then bitterly muses at how he once had it all: a silver-plated bus, millions of fans, a large mansion and groupies surrounding him; now, he just has a van, a small touring entourage and no home.
